Tepid Thoughts

Jun
09

This weekend kind of sucked. I went to a slow-pitch tourney in Iles des Chenes (excuse the lack of proper accents) and we didn't win any games.

Most of the team was too drunk, stoned, tired, or all of the above to play, and they made me wonder why exactly they enjoyed it all.

The sex, booze and dope were everywhere that weekend, and I felt like a complete outsider. Not only did I decide to not camp there for the weekend, but I maybe drank two beers all weekend long. (Fort Garry Dark... good stuff.)

"Fugg"

Jun
06

Did you know that in the first world war, the Canadian soldiers were considered the crudest of all the English speaking soldiers in the world. At least, this is how the British thought of them. The soldiers often booked in with families in Britian while stationed there, and were known to say "Fugg" all the time. This makes me chuckle in a sense, because saying "Fugg" doesn't make me think of cursing. Anyway, that's useless trivia.

Be "Fugging" Safe.

Evil thoughts

Jun
06

The past few days my mind has been cloudied by thought of psuedo-malicious intention. I have been subconsciously brainstorming for methods to cause a lot of havoc.

Ideas such as simultaneously ingiting placed incindiary devices (thousands of them) that would be placed throughout the worlds forests. It would be an ecological disaster, blocking sunlight and sending the world into a high CO2, dreary environment. Can one imagine the implications of such an 'attack'?

OF men

Jun

Men can be amazing creatures. They rise and fall like the tide with a regular routine about them that is very pridictable and traceable throughout the course of history. It is when the cycle becomes cloudy that the unusual develop.

Editorial

Jun

Here is an editorial I stumbled across on the net. Awsome editorial, even if I disagree on some trivial points. More or a rant than an editorial really. If you haven't lived under a rock the last 4 years, this would all make sense to you, more or less. Cheers.

Feature requests:

Jun
05

This is a call for feature requests -- I'm bored and I'm looking for something to do. Don't say 'threaded comments' though. Too much work for too little gain. Editing colour schemes would be plausable though... Let me know what you all want.

Be safe.

Square root of Troy

Jun
05

I calculated the square root of Troy today and found out that it was the equivalent of being a pear that tasted like a strawberry. Aside from the apparent fruitiness of this revelation, I've determined that this makes no logical sense at all!

To my chagrin, when redoing the calculation, I ended up having a pork chop and some spagetti sauce as two of my prime factors. This is very disconcerting as I didn't consider myself to be so 'meaty.' *grins*

And thus I realise now that calculating a person doesn't work too well.

Pitching for hits and misses.

Jun
04

On Monday I pitched in my first game of the year -- until now I had been playing in the outfield (which is lots of fun if there are hits there that I can catch...). I'm still feeling the stiffness in my arm today, so I was definately out of shape/practice. That said, I only walked two batters -- well, rather... the same batter twice. She was cute *grins*.

I struck her out her last at bat, so don't critisize me too harshly... heh

The day so far

Jun
03

Stayed up longer than I intended too -- everquest will do that to you though. Intended to sleep at 11PM, but ended up idling around as a bard until 2AM.

So I wake up at a nice sunny 8AM: shower and jump in the car, wearing my new green clothes. The colours look to perfect so far -- nothing a healthy dose of time cannot fix.

The Jargon File

Just thought I set up a link that way those that don't actually know where I got the front page quote will henceforth know. Of particular interest is the Portrait of J. Random Hacker and the actual entries will strike true to any geek.

Be Safe...
