archive

This is the archive of old posts from two previous blogs. It does not include the archive of comments.

  1. The more recent of the two was hosted at LiveJournal and existed primarily as a vehicle to push articles onto PlanetKDE, a site which syndicates KDE developer blogs. This contains roughly 100 entries between 2007 and 2009.
  2. Previous to LJ, I wrote, hosted and administrated blogs for myself and several others from an old computer I had kicking around. It was never reliable and finally failed in 2007. However, between 2003 and 2007, I posted something like 513 entries.

University

Jul

Stood in line for 2 hours today to get into some extra courses for University... you see, in the first year, they would normally only permit you to register for 5 full courses totalling 30 credit-hours. (A full course is normally weighted at 6 cr/h's.)

Bump

Couple things to note while I head to bed this eve.

Our ball team loses a lot. This may come as a surprise to many, but we're just not that good...

I have to work tomorrow afternoon. Yeah, I know.

Everquest can be so interesting, yet so boring simultaneously. The real problem lies with the fact that I don't play it much anymore, maybe 1 day in 5. In this fashion, it loses it's immersive joys, and becomes even more superficial.

Canada's Rockets...

Amateur Rockets...

X-prize entry...

Another entry...

I, for one, am quite glad that we get such fun rockets developed in Canada. Who's up for making a Winnipeg rocket? (We'd likely get free launch facilities at Churchill...)

Adding to this post instead of add YET another one today...

Ricki, et al.: related to Evercrack, I have made some realisations.

Evercrack in some senses is no better than TV, and in some senses it's worse, since it has no real applications to RL.

The energy leaves

As a strange leather heat-sink.

My brain cools itself.

Vulcans

Jun
30

I have now decided something. We as humanity must create a race of Vulcans among ourselves.

In ancient times, man was given the gift of fire. How many of us can even make a fire any longer, without the aid of an incindiary device.

The name Vulcan is apt for two reasons - one for our ability to tame things, such as fire. Another is the great analogue to the Vulcans of Star Trek. (Ever wonder why they are called Vulcans, perhaps?)

Recently I have been studying some cults and cult-like organisations. Most of them have serious issues, and this is why they are cults.

I just shaved my head.

Now it is shiny and smooth.

It is very weird.
