archive

This is the archive of old posts from two previous blogs. It does not include the archive of comments.

  1. The more recent of the two was hosted at LiveJournal and existed primarily as a vehicle to push articles onto PlanetKDE, a site which syndicates KDE developer blogs. This contains roughly 100 entries between 2007 and 2009.
  2. Previous to LJ, I wrote, hosted and administrated blogs for myself and several others from an old computer I had kicking around. It was never reliable and finally failed in 2007. However, between 2003 and 2007, I posted something like 513 entries.

Working on Sunday

Jun
01

Well, here I am working on Sunday to make up time that I missed in the last two weeks. A handful of sick days, and being and a physical related to the sick days has left me three days behind on my required-for-salary hours.

Thus, I'm at work, instead of sleeping. Tis okay, I tend to get more work done when I'm alone in the office - less people to distract [me].

Another Bugfix! Blog notes...

May

I've updated several subsections of this blog: some new images and links are up, and some additional contact information is up on the About Me page. The software seems to be running smoothly, but I'm still working on a significant rewrite of the whole thing. That should improve customisation of the look and feel, as well as integrate the administration aspects right onto their respective pages. Also, it'll allow picking colour schema's, thus getting rid of green and purple for those that do not like it...

Image Thumbnails

Just a FYI for my fellow blog-o-maniacs: the image gallery is now functioning normally and as expected. Feel free to put images up using the upload feature: it accepts .gif, .jpg, .png, .bmp, .pcx *grins* and just about everything else -- although I recommend against .pcx or other oddly obscure formats *chuckles*. If you know what a .pcx is, then you know not to use it....

Also, for a good idea of how to incorperate an image into a post, check out Evan's Blog or Mike's.

Every last one of you missed it...

The real question is: if the 'Matrix' is Windows, why is 'Zion' DOS!?

I'll start from the top -- the scene at the beginning -- Smith takes over one of the bodies of those freed from the Matrix. He can do this because he is the machine equivalent to Neo!

Then, his counterpart leavese the Matrix. Half of you missed this all together... This wasn't subtle or anything -- it was very point blank! Smith exited the Matrix. He loaded his personality into the Mind of [unamed red-shirt].

Matrix

May

Saw the Matrix this afternoon (12PM). I give it a A-, and the minus is for one cheesy bad scene that ruins the beginning of the movie. Obi-wan-Morpheus cross cheesy tele-evangelist. Very sad to say the least -- add to that a rave scene for no real reason than as an excuse to show some perky nipples. Other than that -- an excellent movie! Action was incredible - story half-decent, and the ending! the ending rocks in so many ways in which all other sci-fi fails to achieve.

<coolness-factor>

Morpheus' shades!

The ending!

The ending!

Baseball and Hockey

Last night I played my first official baseball game of the year. Wasn't pitching last night, as the lefty was doing a good job -- instead played left-field -- dropped my first fly, but made up for it with a few running catches later on...

Anyway, we ended winning by the mercy rule after 5 innings -- 15-5 was the score (we didn't even finish the 5th...). All in all, a good time.

New EQ guild

May
12

Well folks -- are per my continuing EQ saga, if I can hazard to call it that...

Myself and Grofrat have been in discussion about creating our own guild - one dedicated to the act of roleplaying, and all aspects of the game as they pertain to roleplaying. We will still be associated with our many friends in Noble Blood, and the few friends we still have in Syndicate Ro - however, we will be our own entity with our own play-style.

I've whipped up a preliminary website -- temporarily it can be found here!
