archive

This is the archive of old posts from two previous blogs. It does not include the archive of comments.

  1. The more recent of the two was hosted at LiveJournal and existed primarily as a vehicle to push articles onto PlanetKDE, a site which syndicates KDE developer blogs. This contains roughly 100 entries between 2007 and 2009.
  2. Previous to LJ, I wrote, hosted and administrated blogs for myself and several others from an old computer I had kicking around. It was never reliable and finally failed in 2007. However, between 2003 and 2007, I posted something like 513 entries.

The Life of Brain

Mar
27

Today I rolled out of bed at 8:30AM and left my brain behind, it was not a conscious decision, and my body was not capable of thinking about it. I could have slept some more to convince my brain to join me, but alas routine.

Diverging Friendships

Mar
24

This is a targetted post. Specifically for Liz and Mike.

To Liz: I hope you eventually work up the self-esteem to deal with confrontation. As it is right now, you inability to confront anyone on any issue and you holding of grudges all through eternity will only make you the most depressing person alive in the western hemi-sphere. If you have a problem with me or anyone else, tell us. Internalizing your issues will only make you intolerable to be around for anyone you meet.

Weekend is here *CHEER*

Mar
21

Well the weekend is here, and so is some money. Thus, I'm going to go out to the mall for Koya with Mike. Who knows, maybe Brad will be working and ... dunno what I'll end up doing, but either way.

Also, my computer is no longer turning on at all at home. I need a new motherboard and it is still at least 3 weeks away. Oh well -- cross my fingers.

Till next time (as I can't update).

Trombone, Harry Potter

Mar
21

Well yesterday I was bored, and since Liz isn't speaking to me for unspecified reasons and will withdraw from any venue when I am there also, I couldn't join Evan and her in whatever sillyness they were up to last night. Also, couldn't get ahold of Mike or Brennyn or anyone else, so I decided to call my sister and see if she was bored.

Organising a conference on space

Mar
20

I've been thinking about a few things of late, and have realised that almost everything that I spend thought cycles on has some sort of direct correlation to space. I present the following examples:

War War War...; Broken Displays

Mar

Two things. It appears that the US is at war and for once, Canada is playing the legitimate role of a biased neutral; second, my computer is on the fritz!

Coding the blog

Mar
18

Well, it's almost time to start working on this sites code again. Thanks to the help of my beta testers, I have a stack of bugs, broken sections, spelling mistakes and feature requests that I must start on promptly.

I'm also thinking about a potential code rework for some portions, but we'll see what happens.

Anyway, off to work....

Goju-ryu; proxies

Mar
17

Thinking about taking karate again -- but changing schools. Rather than continue with my Shokotan training, I'm contemplating turning to the school known as Goju-ryu (the way of the hard and soft) a more circular karate that still has the standup fast pace of Shokotan. The club I looked into also has some weapons training -- which is good -- no staff training however (sigh).

Anyway, some of the classes are 'day' classes, and I've obtained scheduling permission to work around those classes. All that is great.

Farce and Coding

Mar
14

Well, my brain is melting -- I've been coding so much. Averaging 500 lines per day for the last few weeks... most programmers are considered 'worth their weight' if they can do 25 lines per week... *sigh*

So anyway, to take a break from the code for a short while, I'm idling around the internet looking for some american farce. Whitehouse.org is pretty funny... just ensure you go to .org and not .com -- oh, you went to .com... Can't say I didn't warn you...

Old ideas and projects

Mar
13

Been doing some pondering about some old ideas and projects that I've had that need to see the light of day once more. My ideas for a unique constitution have been dusted off, as well as some basic physics theories that don't work that will end up in the projects section later -- for historical reasons only.
