Anyone want to go to a hockey game in Mountain View?

Hey folks, I have my tickets! whee! Oddly enough, my tickets are sponsored by the e.V. in a very round-about fashion. You see, the e.V. helped fund my trip to Glasgow last summer for Akademy, which was very nice of them. Unfortunately, I had a very interesting trip, including being trapped on the plane for seven hours due to terrorists, lost luggage, and a cancelled flight when I was trying to get home. Well, what happened is that Northwest/KLM gave me a travel voucher. This travel voucher more than covered the cost of my Mountain View trip, so in a round about way, the e.V. is funding my trip to the 4.0 Release Event without it affecting their budget at all. Pretty sweet, eh? :P

Well, anyway, Google is covering the hotel for the nights of the 17th and 18th, and since I'm involved in the planning somewhat, I figured I'd stay an extra night before and after the event (so now I need to get a hotel for the 16th and the 19th too - we'll have to see how much that sets me back...). Anyway, since I'll be there on the evening of the 19th, after the main even has wound down already, I figured I'd take the opportunity to attend a hockey game. You see, I'm from Winnipeg, and ever since we lost the Jets, the only NHL hockey we get locally anymore is either pre-season games, or on TV. On the 19th of January, the San Jose Sharks are playing the Detroit Red Wings, which is perfect since the Red Wings are a real team, not one of those silly southern teams from cities with no idea what snow is. I will be buying tickets to this game within the next week or two, but will hold out to see if anyone else wants to join me at the game so we can get tickets that are in the same section.

So how about it folks? Anyone up for a Wings game?

P.S.: We have several KDE folks on the ground in Mountain View that have informed me that they are willing to house a few folks for a day or two either before or after the event to allow some local vacationing. If you need some place to stay, and don't mind a sleeping bag on a fellow hacker's floor, let me know and I'll get you in contact with some of them.
