Being unemplyed is harsh - not because you have nothing to do, no, no no. That is just fine with me - I tend to get a lot more done when I have nothing to do - hence getting the blog up and running again. No, the real problem is the lack of positive cash-flow, and it seems the only remedy is to get a job.
That said, I may (with some luck) still have one more cheque coming from the now defunct ByteBenders. If that's the case, I shant starve for at least two more weeks, and at that point I'll be moving into dorm and will have a cafeteria at my disposal. Best case scenario.
On the other hand, if that cheque decides to be vacuumed up by the void of bankruptcy, I shall have to find a way to eat for the next two weeks.
Now, that's not to say that I'm not looking for a job -- on the contrary. I've applied at any and all places that could possibly hire my for a short term temp-style position. Think 7-11, walmart, starbucks, etc. I got a few nibbles, but these companies cannot 'spot-hire' like the smaller companies I've worked for in the past. Thus, two week delays with multiple interviews -- coupled with pay delays that can be up to two weeks long. Even if I started working today, I wouldn't see any of that cash-flow until I've already had to resign to make room for schooling.
I can only hope that student loans can rescue me from the sudden shock of payments required in Septemeber. I've applied for as much as I can get, including living allowance; hope it will be enough.
Oh, and I was supposed to get high-speed installed today, but that never materialised - pity. We'll have to put up with a slow dial-up uplink for one or two more days here perhaps.
Anyway, need to sleep. 'Training' for 7-11 tomorrow morning at 08:30. .oO(Oh, Joy!) Thursday morning at 09:00 is final interview at walmart, afterwhich I get to help Tom move Evan's junk to the city.
Speaking of which, this will be my first time actually meeting Tom, even though we know a lot about each other through our mutual acquaintence, Evan, as well as through our online persona's as portrayed through posts and comments on the blog. I look forward to it.

PPS. My nice 19 inch monitor is in on warranty work again!. This time with a faulty cable that connects to the computer. At least there's no smoke coming out this time. In the mean-time, 15 inch glory. Cheers.
