I love it when things are put into perspective every now and again. I especially love it when it can be done without rhetoric.
The original caption was: Mars Express Earth-Moon image. On the night of 3 July 2003, the Mars Express spacecraft was pointed backwards to obtain a view of the Earth-Moon system from a distance of 8 million kilometres while on its way to Mars. This image was acquired using Mars Express' High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC). ESA/DLR Photo
I love how this image portays the earth and the moon together. So serene and peaceful, they look, and you cannot see this pithy little squabbles that are happening on the planet. If you look at the image of Earth, you can see, right in the middle portion, a brownish spot. That is the Sahara desert. Pretty cool, eh.
