The new fatherland

I am convinced that the US is fully and completely on an unalterable path that is so simliar to that which Germany followed in the lead up to the second World War. Those who forget history are destined only to repeat it.

Germany's motivation for WWII were related to the fact that they lost WWI. This similarity is not here in the US, but a similar patriotic backlash can be seen as a result of the September 11th attacks. All 'good' Americans are currently so spell-bound by their nation, that are simply do not questions whether what they are doing is right or wrong. Sound familiar?

Second: Germany made it's initial attacks in WWII possible by creating a revolutionary advance in war-fare that the other nations were not yet ready to defend against. France fell in what, three days? Well, the Americans have demonstrated to some extent, that they are ready to dominate using revolutionary war machines. Unmanned aircraft, pilotted remotely - cruise missiles, and satellite recon. They can observe, scout and destroy without anyone ever realising that they were a target. The forces are being converted from a traditional standing army into tight small groups that behave as SWAT teams, able to move fast, and in tight groups - urban warriors, not trench-diggers.

Also, Germany started the war by taking over Poland, and the Czeck Republic (although possibly under a different name). At this point in the war, the world was so afraid of starting another war with Germany that they did nothing, simply allowing Germany to move into those countries. Iraq and Afganistan tried to resist the US... the world complained a little, but just let the US keep war-mongering. The US even has an ally or two - Britain for one.

On the domestic front, the economy is failing in the US. Hrmm, that sounds familiar too. Hitler introduced the Volkswagon to help spur the failing german economy -- these turned into the vehicals for war after a few short years. The US prefers to spend money on 'defense contracts' to help infuse the economy with cashflow...

Also domestically: Germany encouraged 'unofficially' violence within its society. They encouraged 'intolerance' towards the Jews, and condoned school-yard fighting... In the US, violence is on a continuous rise, hitting new highs on a steady pace. In many populous parts of the US, the level of racism towards Arabs and Blacks is astoundingly high, even though constitutionally they are equal. Eventually this growing violence of the American public will be turned somewhere, by Bush or a near successor.

Hitler was elected. He used his elected status to vault him into a position of supreme power, but use of persuasion that the public ate up readily. Bush is elected, yes. Since his election, he has passed a few laws (I recommend you read the text of the 'Patriot Act') that provide his office with untold powers. In 2001, a civilian student from Qatar was arrested and is being held by the US military and has been labelled an 'unlawful combattant' by the US. He was a student attending University in Illinois to get his Ph.D. He wasn't a combattant by any means. And this is just a single example among quite a few.

In the US, there is practically a cop on every corner, and their crime is astounding. Try walking up to a State Assembly in the US without getting at best, arrested - if you aren't shot first. It is a police state, and the public hasn't woken up to smell the coffee yet. You know where else there existed a naive public to their police state?

I can go on, but no one likes to read my really long posts, so I'll stop here - if you want more information as to why I think they way I do, just ask. Cheers.
