This is probably going to a long rambling entry with no real point other than to put to text some random thoughts. That aside...
The Devils win the Cup. Hurrah! Giguere gets MVP - deserved it too. I go to thinking though -- in baseball there's a team called the Angels. What would happen if there was a hockey team called the Angels? Wouldn't that be fun -- Devils vs. Angels. Oh well indeed.
Also, Hamilton won the Caulder Cup (AHL) -- cool. At least the Canadians triumphed in one league.
In sort-of-interesting news: another disease is in the news, Monkey Pox. Same family as small pox, but only about half as deadly. Native of central Africa too. No real concern, maybe a few kids get sick, and perhaps one or two people with HIV can't fight it off with their ailing immune system. I'm not overly worried.
SARS has claimed (in Hong Kong) a 35ish healthy male. That's kind of scary, since my dad is 40, but he isn't in Hong Kong (or Toronto for that matter).
Oh, and I bought a new jacket today. It's green. I also bought some new dress shoes - the other pair was wearing thin and the soles were worn lopsided from walking on too much concrete.
I've been thinking of trying to wear my tuxedo out in public for no reason, other than to draw a reaction. Yes, that's my motto again "Be rebellious in non-rebellious ways." Hrmm, I could write a book on that...
I dropped off my car before I went to work today - for an oil-change, lube, inspection. $29.95 -- includes the filter, and the new oil. Can't complain about that -- filter is worth $5, and would have spent $10 on oil. Add to that the lube and labour, and I think it's an excellent deal. Since I'm working until 11PM tonight anyway, I just left the car there overnight, and will pick it up tomorrow. My car will love me for it.
Bought book four of mission gamma today, and finished reading it already. Evan will be pleased, I'll just give it to him for placement on his perfectly ordered bookshelf.
One of two Nasa probes to Mars were launched today. In a few years, we'll have Mars media overload. Three probes (two American and one European) will be touching down in the same timeframe. However, Mars is beginning to look like the Bermuda Triangle of space. Statistically, 3 of 4 probes to the planet have been doomed. It's amazing we have the three satellites in orbit, and the two successful landers. Add to that the stupid names the Americans gave their probes -- "Spirit" and "Opportunity" -- sheesh.
I'm thinking of going to visit Joey. He's in the reman centre (as far as I know) still and that's right next door. I need to evaluate for myself just how far gone he is purported to be, or whether he is simply the Evil SubGenius that got caught. We'll see perhaps - I have not written him, and do not even know if he is accessible.
Cheers. More rants later, perhaps.
