Well, looks like the US is a mere week or so away from going to war with Iraq and politics notwithstanding, I'm more interested in the technology that the US forces are demonstrating to the world. Good example would be The Mother of all Bombs, created with the single purpose of doing a little sabre-rattling.
Now back to Politicking: It seems that some of my predictions about the repurcussions of attacking Iraq are not unique. Can you say 'Holy War?'
So Far, Britain has been the US's pocket ally throughout the buildup of force and aforementioned sabre-rattling. I present The Official US position. This is amusing to be since is seems very similar for a statement that the US made regarding the UN. It seems as though the US actually is ready to go it alone anyway.
"The members of the Security Council are now faced with a grave choice," Annan told a news conference. "If they fail to agree on a common position and action is taken without the authority of the Security Council, the legitimacy and support for any such action would be seriously impaired."
"If, on the other hand, they can come together, even at this late hour, to address this threat in a united manner and ensure compliance with the previous resolutions, then the Council's authority will be enhanced and the world will be a safer place."
"If the U.S and others were to go outside the Council and take military action it would not be (in) conformity with the (U.N.) charter," said Annan.

I do realise that I am drawing from a predominantly Arab news source here, perhaps we need a different spin on the situation. Enter some other English news sources giving somewhat interesting spins on the story:
- 'Illegal war' could place UK soldiers in the dock -- NZ Herald
- More about the court mentioned above
- Hurrah for India!
- Interesting Strategy that seems much too rare from North American Sources.
Anyway, lots of fun news can be found, all of which seems to support my position contrary to the US Government in this case.
To any americans that might be reading this... American people are great, if slightly niave. It's your government I much dislike. Anyway, move to Canada, be peaceful. *grins*
Until next time, Be safe
